About Ginger

Shar-Pei / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Ginger - 7 Year Old - Female Shar Pei Mix - Spayed Ms. Ginger Snap is in need of a new home, she's an older gal who's vision isn't the best but gets around just fine and even has puppy energy bursts! Ginger needs a nice quite retirement home with no small children or other pets. Ginger was attacked twice while on leash in her previous foster home and has developed some dog aggression due to the attacks. She would do best in a home with a securely fenced in yard and some land. She is currently living in a neighborhood filled with children and other animals, which makes walks and backyard playtime very stressful for her. No apartments either. Ginger was locked up at a shelter style rescue for 4 years with no training or socialization, but she loves adult humans who are patient and calm. She loves to get brushed, play fetch and go for walks (her leash manners need to be worked on more). She is crate and house trained. UTD on shots and is spayed. Her current owners say she is a doll but due to their busy neighborhood, they feel Ginger would do best in a more quite setting. They say small children make her nervous, and she has snapped at a small child that ran up to her while on leash, the child had a small scratch that did not require medical attention but was scary for everyone, including Ginger. This is most likely due to her vision not being the best, but she loves adult attention from those that give her time to warm up, which doesn't take long. She has a fear of spoons and having her teeth brushed, but does ok at bath time. She loves chew toys like antlers and hooves and loves her stuffies that she is very gentle with. If you think you or someone you know might be able to provide a nice relaxing retirement home for this sweet girl please send us a DM and we will get you in contact with the current owners.
