Snow ID #A1961066 Chesterfield Square Shelter, Los Angeles, So Cal Per the shelter: 'Hello everyone, I would like to introduce Snow who is available for adoption or rescue at the Chesterfield Square Animal Services Center in South Los Angeles. The following dog has had an extended stay and is not coping well in the shelter environment. We would love for Snow to exit the shelter and begin his journey of decompression and finding permanent placement. Please take a look at the photo, information, and watch the videos below! My name is Snow and I'm a White and Black, Neutered Male. I'm about 2 years old. I weigh 68 pounds. I arrived at the shelter as a Stray on 12/7/2020. Hackles raised, lunging towards door then would run into cubby. Noticed that he was 'quiet' during feeding time but once I went back to pick his bowl the negative behaviors continued. Use caution. -Growling and showing teeth. Snapping at hand when locking kennel door. -Upon approach, at the gate-vocal/barking and baring teeth. -Locked out from the cubby-he retreated to the corner and defecated/urinated -Able to toss a leash on him (few times he snapped at the leash) -Able to walk out and take to the yard for playgroup Playgroup Note: -Sat in the corner to begin with. Eventually explored and showed interest in other dogs. -Reluctant to approach handlers but did tolerate petting/handling. -Ventured into the pool, loves to 'chew' the water.'
