**IN TRIAL-ADOPT HOME** Currently in Boise. HOBBS is a gorgeous 1 year old, 68-pound Shepherd/Carolina Dog blend boy who was found as a stray in Gooding County and was thrown into a shelter that completely discombobulated him and caused him to react badly to humans and dogs. Friends Furever Animal Rescue saw something in this dog that caused them to save his life. Because of his age, he is unsure about many things in life. He can be nervous when first meeting people and might need some time to warm up. Like most dogs, he would prefer to approach strangers instead of people touching him from a direction that he cannot see. He has made friends with all the staff and volunteers at his boarding spa over the past two months. He does not yet know how to always react properly to dogs. He is receiving some exposure to other dogs in controlled situations at the boarding spa with a trainer. He walks well on a leash...heeling and checking in with the handler. He knows how to 'sit' and 'shake'. We've even seen him hugging people. He does not know about jumping into any car, but with practice, he jumps right in. He appears to be a sight hound---sees squirrel and bird movements from far away, but doesn't pull on leash to get them. For now, we are looking for a pet-free home that has an experienced handler to continue with HOBBS integration into the world of new things.
