Kai is a gentle giant. He weighs approximately 120 pounds. He has never once tried to hurt me or my family, though he absolutely despises cats. Kai is a very big dog, so small children are sometimes intimidated by him. He loves big bones to chew on, and loves running after balls while not picking them up. He loves quality time, he'll sit with you for hours. Kai is also very smart! When he started training, his behavior improved significantly over just 2 sessions. He now knows basic commands, such as sit, come, heel, and lay down. He likes to tug when leash walking, but he is improving. When we first found him, he was wandering on the side of the road, malnourished and covered in dirt. When trying to give him a bath, his first reaction is to run away from the hose. He is terrified of water being sprayed on him, leading me to believe that he was abused before we found him. I have found ways around that, like filling a tub with water (he'll sit in it until you pour the water directly on him) and using waterless shampoo. Kai is a truly one of a kind dog. He is mixed with pitbull, mastiff, and possibly another breed.
