About Edna

Pit Bull mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

This is Edna. In foster in W WA. She is about 18 mos. old, and we believe some type of terrier mix. She should be in a home without kids or small dogs. She loves toys, bones, and dog beds. She also likes dogs her size. She is 36 pounds. She could be seen to be a small pit so NO rentals/NO apartments. Should do best with a secure yard. She is still in the chewing phase like a puppy. Here is an update from her foster: She will need someone that is very patient. She is scared of most things (don't blame her, all new stuff). It took me 5 minutes to get her down the stairs. We took it slow and I booty scooted each step and gave plenty of positive reinforcement. Birds flew over last night and that spooked her too She is very reactive to the energy in the room. If people are excited she does not do well. She will try to go in the corner or try to hide. It's almost like someone yelled at her a lot or she was in a loud place. She seems like she is worried that she is often in trouble which breaks my heart. We are giving her tons of positive reinforcements and lots of love. She will do best in a quiet household. She does not strike me as a party animal at least until she starts to get comfortable with someone. She will need someone that is patient with her and willing to take the time to bond Once she starts to warm up, her adopter needs to be prepared for plenty of kisses and snuggles. She really likes to be close to her person or people. When taking her outside in the backyard, she does best kept on a leash to go potty. I've noticed that if I do let her out and even stand by her, she won't go. Since we ask all adopters to never ever have the dog off leash in the yard for the first month or two anyway!!! We err on the side of caution with brining a new dog in the home, they need time to acclimate, bond, feel safe and not wish to escape! She is NOT an outside dog. Her adopter will need to understand that she came from TX, a much warmer climate than up here. She loves to be close to body heat and in blankets or by something warm. I had her in the car this morning with the heat on full blast. Her eyes were closed and she had a big smile on her face. She smiles when she is happy which is adorable She had a pup chino this morning and seemed to really enjoy it. She does not seem to be food picky but, we buy good quality dog food and snacks She will make the right person's life a 1000 times better as long as they keep the above in mind. My relative met her and adores her. She would adopt her in a heartbeat but is not in a place right now to have a dog. This is a posting for L & S Dog Diggity Rescue.
