About Fergus

Fergus is full of love and spirit. He is the smartest dog we have ever owned. We have had him since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 6 months and was just neutered. He currently weighs 36 lbs. He was born July 10, 2020. We have made the very hard decision to re-home Fergus due to aggression and food aggression towards our elderly chi-weenie dog. Our older dog is in his twilight years and lives in constant fear of Fergus. Our older dog is a formerly abused rescue dog and we are having to isolate him now due to Fergus' play-bully attitude towards him. Maybe the problem is that they are both males- we are not really sure- but it is causing Fergus to develop bad behaviors and cause our older dog misery. Good things about Fergus- he is super smart, he loves to play and have belly rubs, he knows sit, stay, and loves to fetch a tennis ball and go to the dog park. He gets along with other dogs around his size or larger at the dog park and at doggy day care. He does well with strangers, he walks on a leash pretty well for a 6 month old puppy with energy. He is crate trained and pretty much potty trained. (We don't let him have free range of the house yet but he does not have accidents in his crate or in a small area we have gated to give him room to move around). He has been around our 3 cats since he was 6 weeks old and does not terrorize them and has learned to respect their space. He comes with a crate, 6 months of Simparica trio for monthly heart worm/flea/tick treatments, he has a microchip, and all his vaccinations are up to date. Also he comes with a harness, collar, leash, bowls, and a large amount of food. We started him on Prozac last month and it seems to help with his overall mood, he also comes with almost a month worth of this medication. Lastly, he rides well in cars but is scared of them when they drive by when he is out walking.
