About Hera

Hera's body may bear the scars of a difficult life, but her loving heart and gentle spirit are the most noticeable things about her. She is a two year old Pit Bull mix who weighs 38 pounds and is fully grown. Hera was found in the desert with a single two month old puppy, a puppy who against all odds had grown healthy and strong under her protection and care. She was frightened when she first came to us, unsure if she could trust humans who had clearly let her down in the past. However, it didn't take long for her to realize that she was safe, and that she could share her boundless love with the people around her. She remained in a foster home with her son, slowly letting her silly personality emerge. Hera acts as much like a puppy as the one she has been raising, always eager to play and believing that everything can be a toy. Because of this, her forever home must have another playful dog to keep her entertained and a fenced in yard for her to race around in. She adores dogs of all sizes and will happily cuddle with them in between play sessions. Hera also needs people who are home more often than not and have the time necessary to give her plenty of structured exercise and continue working with her on her manners in the home, or boredom can quickly lead to her causing mischief. Hera is potty trained and walks well on a leash once she is comfortable with her people. She knows 'sit' and 'down' and is eager to learn more. Hera is spayed, vet checked, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee of $200 includes a complimentary vet visit.
