About Sparky

Yorkie / Poodle
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Sparky is truly a spark just waiting to set off all the feels. We truly don't know all this stately gentleman of about seven years and maybe 12 pounds has been through but somehow his own family surrendered him with very matted, smelly hair, and very bad teeth. That has all been taken care of now and he feels so much better! Sparky may have been an outside-only dog in his former life. He wasn't keen on coming into a house when we first got him but that changed quickly. He doesn't know what it means to be picked up though he loves to jump up where his humans are sitting and enjoys their company. He also is learningquickly again, boundaries inside a house are different from outside. Now that he loves coming inside he just needs his new people to help him continue to learn great indoor manners. Sparky gets along great with dogs and cats and older children. He loves spending time in his crate and will actually put himself in there to rest or get away from it all. If you have been looking for a sweet soul that won't expect much of you but just wants to be secure and loved, then Sparky may be for you. Read on or go directly to the adoption process page of our website, throwmeabonedogrescue.org, to apply. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
