About Posey

Posey - as sweet and beautiful as a petite bouquet of flowers, well, at least after she was groomed. This little girl somehow ended up in a shelter as a stray and her people never came for her. Go figure! Their loss will be another lucky family's gain. We believe we have this girl's mix right with Maltese/Poodle, but we could be off. We are 99.9% positive this girl is hypoallergenic as she has actual hair and will need grooming on a regular basis. Posey is 75% people oriented and about 25% dog oriented. Cats she could not care less about. Posey will go outside and do her business quickly so she can try to get back to the goings-on of the humans inside UNLESS the humans are outside with her. Though she gets along great with other dogs she definitely wouldn't care if she was an only dog. Kids are okay but she would definitely be better around children 12 and over as she does not like to be startled or pushed around (even though she is a submissive girl). She does okay on a leash but would prefer to be carried. She wants us to remind people that black looks good with nearly everything so why shouldn't she be carried??? Posey is just waiting for the perfect home with humans that will worship her as much as she will worship them. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
