About Domino

Jack Russell / Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Domino! Who needs pizza when you've got this cute little guy to join you for dinner? (Well, he says go ahead and order the pizza and he'll share it with you.) Domino is maybe around three years old, maybe younger, and around eight pounds. He's probably a Jack Russell mixed with Chihuhuahua, but here he got his snaggle-toothed grin is beyond us. Scared as can be is how we found him at a shelter - too afraid to move a muscle and eyes that looked like they were going to pop right out of his head. But it only took about five minutes for him to lie back, relax, and accept belly rubs. In his foster home he has blossomed and become more and more confident, coming to be picked up and loved on. Because of how scared he was we can only assume new people will need to give him a chance to warm up and may even experience his bug-eyes at first too, so he'll need patient people. Domino has learned to love a crate and doesn't make a peep the whole night through. He would do best in a new home if his people will continue to provide him that safe-haven while acclimating to a new environment. He is not great on leash yet but it won't take long (thought he seems like he will be a dog whose idea of a walk is being carried). Children 13 or older would be best as anything unpredictable will spook him. He does get along with other small dogs but most large dogs give him a start so slow introductions or a home without any large dogs would be best. Cats are okay and could probably scare the bejeevies out of him if they tried. If you have been looking for a small dog that truly is quiet and just wants to be loved and feel secure then this guy is the guy for you. Read on or go directly to the adoption process page of our website, throwmeabonedogrescue.org. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
