About Callie

We took her in as a private foster from a boarding kennel in November, hoping to be her forever home. However, we think she would do better as an only dog (she has resource guarding with our other dog). Or maybe with an older, mellow dog. Once she trusts you, she adores you. Callie is 2-3 years old, about 45 lbs, some small part heeler and a large part who knows what, though she definitely has a heeler personality. She is initially shy and fearful, especially of men, but she warms up and once she decides you are her people, she will follow you everywhere, wag at your every appearance. She wiggles with delight, her whole body moving. She is dog reactive on leash; I have been working with a trainer, and she has already shown improvement, but that training would need to be continued. Experienced dog owner preferred, but open to new dog owners who are willing to take on the training. Probably ok with teens, but not younger kids. She has high prey drive, so no cats or small animals.
