About

Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Rudy is a very sweet boy. We took him in as an emergency placement when his owner could not have him due to her landlords policies. She was not wanting to get rid of him and was hoping to find other living arrangements and be able to take him back. Unfortunately she could not. We have a male Newfoundland, and if it wasn't for the two of them not getting along, we would keep him. He is the sweetest. However, he needs to be in a home without other male dogs. He loves playing with our female golden retriever mix. He plays very well, he is gentle and even submissive to her. However, with our male newfie and other large male dogs, he tends to assert dominance and aggression. He grew up on a ranch around horses and loves his people. He is nervous with new people. He loves to play and is great with our son (age 12). although he is best friends with my husband and they have the strongest bond, when working with him and training, he is leary of men. I've been working with him with leash training and loading up, as he has had little experience with both. When he is in a new situation or nervous, he needs patience and understanding. This is not a dog for a novice owner. He will be the most amazing dog, best friend, family protector... we wish our two giants could get along, however. Rudy needs to be in a home where is in either the only dog or only male dog.
