About Bella

We are in the unfortunate position of having to find another home for our 2.5 year old pitbull, Bella. When we brought Bella home at 7 weeks old, we were a small household comprised of adults and teenagers. She has done very well with that mix of human interaction. She also loves small children that are large enough to handle her 50 pound frame and active playing (she has been around children as young as 7 and they did well with her). However, my teenage daughter unexpectedly became pregnant in 2020 and gave birth in December. We have worked with Bella since and it has become very clear that she is not doing well with the infant in the home. She is highly agitated about the baby and is becoming destructive working out her anxiety. She does not have a moment's peace because she is checking on the infant or worrying about crying or noises. I do not worry about her hurting the infant aggressively - but she definitely has the potential to hurt the infant accidentally during fits of excitement and worry. Each day it seems to be getting worse for her and us in the home. She is not a dog that can be locked outside - she needs her people and will worry a door to get to them. Bella is an extremely loving dog. She is very energetic and definitely needs a home that will work with her to burn her young dog energy. She loves to play ball and to snuggle with her human. She is crate trained and housebroken. She has been to professional training and is prong-collar trained. Bella is spayed, up to date on her shots and microchipped. We have never had another dog in the house while we have had Bella. She does go to daycare three times a week. She has shown protective aggression towards other dogs and people when she is out with me and feels threatened. Bella will come with a cot, her crate and her toys. We need to solve this situation soon. As I stated above, she appears to be getting more aggravated each day and I worry about behavior constantly.
