Rocky is a 4 year old Corgi mix boy. He's 30 lbs, neutered, current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention and has his microchip. Rocky has been with his loving family since he was a puppy. He recently has started going after the family cat and growling at the young children. Once he came into our rescue, we've determined it's in Rocky's best interest to find a furever home with no cats and older or no children. This handsome boy is very loving, affectionate, active and loyal. He is also house and crate trained. Rocky loves to entertain himself by running around the yard and chewing on his bones. He hasn't been raised with other dogs but a house guest has recently come to stay with her Aussie and after slow introductions, Rocky and the other dog are doing well and play all the time. Rocky can be on the dominant side so he will need to be an only dog or with a submissive dog. He seems to prefer female dogs over males. Rocky enjoys going for walks and is good on leash but can be reactive if seeing another dog or a young child. His new home should be aware of this behavior and be willing to work with a trainer so Rocky can learn to have better manners in these situations. Rocky does know basic commands and wants to please his people. Of course he's a Corgi so he is treat motivated and easy to train. Rocky is currently in Longview TX area. Because he can be reactive to other dogs, rescue transport is not an option. Approved adopter must be willing to pick him up or be within 5 hours driving time so this rescue can arrange for private volunteer transport.
