About Cinnamon

Meet Cinnamon! This little tiny nugget is the sweetest and smartest little girl who lucked out getting into our rescue!! The founder of our rescue was leaving the Walmart parking lot when a woman and her son standing at the back of their SUV pointed to a box inside. She stopped the car because she knew it would contain puppies which of course it did! There were two but the woman would only give her one because another woman drove up who wanted one. Who knows where Cinnamon would have ended up! As we know zero history about her we are guessing her breed which is obviously part Chihuahua and judging by the other puppy that was with her some type of small terrier. She is about 10 weeks old now, weighs about 3 pounds and we are guessing she will weight about 8 or 9 pounds fully grown. Without seeing the parents it is impossible to know. When she first came into her foster home she shook like crazy and hid under blankets and behind pillows. But after a few days she was running the place playing with all the dogs, large and small and finding great delight carrying around large stuffed animals! She is not fully housebroken at her age but if in a confined space she will go right to the wee wee pad so housebreaking her should be really easy. She is super smart, athletic and agile. She taught herself how to use the stairs to the couch and the bed. She sleeps through the night and can hold it. She is a great eater and takes direction well. She is pretty kooky, doing little dances and standing on her head. She is such a great spirit she would do well in many different types of living situations. Another playful dog would be preferable or cat as she is super animal friendly. Her adoption fee includes: 1. Her spay (when she is old enough per the terms of our contract) 2. First set of vaccines 3. Deworming 4. Microchip 5. Starter food 6. Harness and leash 7. Bed An adoption fee does apply. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. e3. How many adults, children and pets in ther household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. 6. Breed experience 7. If you don't have a dog your plans on keeping her socialized Some notes to consider before applying for Cinnamon: 1. Cinnamon is a puppy and as such requires the time and commitment to make her a perfect canine citizen. Please make sure that everyone is on board with the idea of having a new puppy in the home. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. Please do not send more than one email. It slows down the process as we have to weed through many inquiries. After your initial email we will get back to those we feel are the best fit. If you are still interested we do a brief phone call before the actual meet and greet. We do not accept phone calls in the pre-screen phase. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
