About Leeroy (west)

Hi, my name is LEEROY - ID#A4510410. I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Dec 04, 2020. This beautiful boy is house broken, but needs socialization and training. He walks good on a leash and loves people - very friendly. However, Leeroy has exhibited high arousal and non-affiliative/lower sociability behaviors (likely due to environment/high arousal) in the shelter setting. Due to possibly safety risk of handling dog in shelter setting (possible redirection due to high arousal), recommend placement with rescue or new hope partner able to further assess outside shelter setting and provide behavior support to manage and/or treat this dog's behaviors.
