About Jonah

Jonah is an approximately 2 year old boy who looks like a Cattle dog / Aussie mix. He's a bit of a shorter guy. Jonah loves people and loves treats. He came into rescue from the shelter because he had an injury to his left rear leg. The shelter vet thought he had a broken bone. Turns out his hip was dislocated. The best solution for Jonah was an FHO surgery. This removes the head of the femur bone so he doesn't have bone rubbing and allows him to gain use of his leg again. Jonah had his surgery before Christmas, rested and recovered, and has now finished up his special therapy time at water rehab. Jonah spent a month with a foster who lived in a third story apartment. This allowed him to really build the muscle and strength back in his hip and leg. Jonah is getting his spunk back and runs around the yard and hops and enjoys his active time. Jonah does best with female dogs similar in size or a bit larger. We think he would be happiest in a home as an only dog or with a female. He loves car rides and walks well on leash. He is crate and house trained. He's a pretty easy-going guy who loves attention and would love a family of his own to enjoy. He's very treat motivated and wants to please. Jonah is such an easy going guy he might be a good fit for apartment living.
