About Bowser

Bengal
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

***Bengal Experience or Experience with Unsocialized Cats a MUST!*** Bowser is an absolutely gorgeous, 5-year-old Purebred Bengal Cat with Bengal Rescue, a 501c3 Rescue. He comes from a marvelous line, from a cattery in Japan and has a certified pedigree from TICA. Sadly, Bowser spent most of his days unsocialized with humans and other pets. He was shuffled from Breeder to Breeder before finally ending up in a loving Foster home. He has been in Foster most of this year while the foster worked to try to socialize him. Due to the fact that there are many other pets in the home, we do feel it would be best to place him in a quieter environment. We are looking for a home for him with humans who have experience with Bengal cats, and especially with Unsocialized Felines. One mellow cat companion would probably be fine. Bengal Rescue would like to find Bowser a home that will let him live life on his terms. He is not cuddly. He wishes to never be picked up. But he could make an amazing companion for someone who has the experience, time, and environment to nurture him and allow him to grow at his own pace. Bowser is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has no litter box issues. His only behavioral issues are due to being unsocialized through much of his life (he is easily startled and will seek refuge when too much is going on). Bowser can be very talkative, once he's comfortable with you. Bowser loves: Wet food and meat. He loves little stuffed animal toys and strings like shoe laces. He loves firm scratches on his head and his back sides and chin. He loves covered beds he can hide in and watch everyone. He likes mellow female cats and mellow dogs. He needs stimulation with playing or he does get bored and try to 'play' with other cats. Bowser dislikes: Being touched with more than one hand, being picked up, sudden / fast movement, loud noises. Touching his belly is totally off-limits! Bowser really doesn't know how to play with other cats, so when playing with the resident male cats - it usually turns into a fight. Bowser doesn't like closed doors and will try to dig his way out - so no closed doors. If you have experience turning around unsocialized cats, Bowser just might be the right match for you.
