About Elsa

Update: 1/12/21 We noticed Elsa was walking a bit funny so we sent her for xrays and she does have some hip issues. Our shelter vet and another vet who sits on our BOD, definitely thinks she is still a medical case vs surgical. Elsa is still very active and happy. She still has full range of motion in her hips and it took a lot for him to even get a small reaction out of her. He also noticed that she was still very well muscled so it really isn't causing her to be lame and not use her legs. He recommends joint supplements, fish oil supplements, and keeping her active/fit (not overweight). He said that further on down the road she may become a surgical case, but definitely not anytime soon. He says the new owners would have to be warned of that and that early arthritis will set in. 1/5/21 Estimated 1-2 years old. Elsa is a lab mix, not sure what she is mixed with. Very sweet but can use some basic training. She needs to work on her leash manners as she pulls very hard, and she is strong. We are looking for an owner familiar with high energy dogs and will train her to walk better on the leash. Fenced in yard required. Kennel confinement is getting to this girl so she needs out. She was fostered for a short time down South with other dogs but here does not seem to like them so she may be better as an only pet. We think its the environment that may be getting to her.
