Hercules was brought to the care center by police following an incident where he bit the previous owner's arm when they were attempting to feed him. The bite resulted six punctures. The most recent owner had him for two. Days before the bite occurred so little behavior information is known. When a handling assessment was attempted, Hercules became playful and then aroused, mounting the assessor and had to be removed by a second handler. Hercules has mostly displayed social behavior in the care center though has also been observed to growl at select handlers. We recommend that Hercules be placed an experienced, adult-only home equipped to work with his resource guarding and arousal issues utilizing reward-based, force-free training.
