About Prince

Look at this handsome boy! This is Prince, and his name is so fitting, as he is a true prince! This happy dog is a 3 year old, 40 pound Lab/terrier mix (as best we can guess). Believe it or not, Prince was adopted from us originally when he was a very small puppy! He was recently found wandering the streets alone. Thankfully someone picked him up and we were contacted through his microchip registration. His people didn't step forward to claim him, so we are going to find him a wonderful new home! Sweet Prince can be a bit timid and submissive, but he is the most lovable dog who wants the affection of his person, and is friendly with everyone he meets. He is so eager to please, and the joy on his face when you pay attention to him is priceless! When he's excited he will spin in circles and dance around you. He absolutely loves balls, especially ones with squeakers, and will collect them to put in his doggy bed. He gets along with all the other dogs in his foster home and loves to wrestle and play. He doesn't seem overly interested in the cat (but they have pretty much been apart) and his foster mom believes he would be great with older children. Prince is very smart and well mannered in the house. He follows basic commands, such as come, outside to potty, sit, and down. Prince was not housetrained when he came in, but he is so smart and praise driven that in a week's time he had it down! He doesn't like going out in the rain and it is the only time he had an accident in the house. He looks forward to mealtimes and patiently waits in place until he is served. Prince likes to hang out close to his foster mom, lying in a dog bed while she works during the day. Riding in a car makes him anxious, and he walks ok on a leash. A fenced yard would be best for him. He sleeps in the big bed with his person, or in a dog bed at night. He is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has received a 12 month ProHeart shot for heartworm prevention, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Prince needs a good home with people who will treasure him and provide the love he so desires. In return, he will be a loyal and adoring part of your family.
