About Leo

Plott mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

We'd love for you to meet Leo! This sweet gentleman has just arrived from Alabama after his family moved away without him. He's been through a lot of tough transitions in a short amount of time, so he arrived rather anxious and shy. But his wagging tale gave away just now much he wants to be loved. While his paperwork only says hound mix, his gorgeous coat makes you think he must have some Catahoula Leopard Dog in him - maybe why he's named Leo. Because of his current shyness, a calm home with only adults is recommended. We've noticed a strong prey instinct with the rabbits in our yard, so probably not a good fit for homes with a cat. Despite one early accident, Leo seems to be house trained. We have not needed to crate him at night or when we're not home. He's gotten along fine with our dog and another foster, but humans are definitely his preferred species. He's only 1 - 2 years old, but is an 'old soul' and very calm. Leo weighs about 50 lbs., is neutered, up-to-date with his vaccines, heartworm negative, and is being fostered in Lancaster, PA. We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $300 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $350 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. We are an all-volunteer organization and we are always looking for more help. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.
