About Penny

Penny - This is what her foster has to say: Penny is an itty bitty pitty who has not had the best life but it has not ruined her sweet but very shy personality. She came to her foster home terrified of everything and only seemed happy when eating and laying close to her foster mom for security...but she has really come far this past month! She is walking very well on leash and now looks forward to her walks, she is able to get in the car without fear and knows we are going to do something fun and she is finally excited about toys! bones and balls seem to be her favorite and she does a decent job of fetch. She will need a family that will be patient with her shyness and apprehension, and continue to expose her to new experiences with plenty of positive encouragement. She appears to be just over a year old and a Velcro dog who will follow her people everywhere they go. She takes some time to warm up to new people but has done very well with other dogs. She would do great in a home with another confident dog to help her feel secure and learn how to be a more independent dog. She is definitely a lap dog and will cuddle as often as possible. Penny has a big heart with a lot of love to give and although she is suspicious of humans initially once you earn her trust she will be a loving and loyal pet for years to come! Due to her shyness we recommend children middle school age and older. No cats. Her ideal home will have another confident dog.
