About Spike

One ear up and one down lends 3-year-old Spike's sweet face a touch of sass! Filling his fit 70-pound frame with LOVE, he craves the companionship of his foster mom and wants nothing more than to cuddle with her on the couch and cover her in happy doggy kisses. He also loves when she pets his head and ears, showing his appreciation by resting his head on her thigh and even falling asleep on her hand! Very tolerant of her handling him and washing his ears and feet, he's also very fond of butt scratches, Nylabones and chew toys, any and all treats, including vegetables, and is learning to accept both food and treats more gently. Always eager to engage in play with his three large canine foster friends, he greatly enjoys going on walks around the neighborhood, and is at work on pulling less on his leash. Motivated by food and pets, he knows 'sit', 'down', 'crawl', 'off', is working on 'stay' and on not stealing food. Housetrained, not a fan of felines, and in need of crate training, sweet and sassy Spike will thrive in a loving home with other dogs his own size and adopters to polish his manners, complete his training and keep him mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.
