Riley is a rescue dog, who has a strong corgi temperament- energetic, intelligent, active and eager to herd. In our family's experience with Riley, he has been very sweet and protective with my kids, but at the same time very 'bossy', and barks and nips and 'herds' them. His behavior is very typically corgi and he would do best with an experienced corgi owner.I would not recommend him for a family with young children, or for first time dog owners. I have been told by a breeder/trainer whom I consulted that Riley would be the most useful and content as a herding dog. He has not been trained to do this, but it likely wouldn't take much training to get him to do what his genes already are longing to do! If you think your home or ranch might be the right place for Riley, please call me! He has flea and seasonal allergies, but otherwise is a healthy, 27 lb male, and up to date on his shots.
