** TO Be Euthanized 1/11/2021 in NYC ** FOSTER or ADOPTER needed BY NOON that day to SAVE Riley's life! LONG STAY Cute Floppy Eared Smiley Riley is ready to receive all the love! Riley needs help finding the right home! Soft, social, shy but friendly, RILEY was found wandering Riley Place in Staten Island, and that is how she got her shelter name. But Riley was not on a grand adventure. She was either lost or had been cruelly dumped in the streets of the city, and she was understandably stressed and scared when the police picked her up and brought her to the Manhattan care center. Riley needs a slow approach, she needs time to open up and warm to her new friends at the shelter. But in her interactions with the behavior assessors, she readily approached them with a wagging tail, leaned in softly, and tried to be brave. Sometimes her shyness got the better of her and she would scoot to the other side of the room, but our cowardly lion would be putty in the hands of an experienced foster or adopter who would give her the quiet, structured home and the patience and kindness she would need to open her heart and trust once again. We are sure she is a lapdog in the making, the shy ones always are. If you are an experienced foster or adopter who is looking for a devoted companion and friend, please give Riley a chance. She so deserves happiness. She so deserves a family of her own. HURRY AND MESSAGE OUR PAGE or EMAIL US at [email protected] for assistance fostering or adopting this beautiful girl. Riley needs help finding the right home! A staffmember writes: Riley would succeed best in an adult only foster home that is comfortable managing her fearful behavior around strangers and new situations. She should be given time to decompress at her own pace in a low traffic environment.
