About RJ

RJ has had a rough time of it in his short life as you can see by his face. What happened to him exactly is still not clear to us. He was living tied up outside and clearly not given the best care. He's very nervous at the shelter and very very slow to make up to people.. RJ will not be a social butterfly anytime soon so he's looking for a quiet home to learn how to be part of a family inside a home. We haven't learned a lot about RJ yet as he's so nervous still. A home with adults only or teenage children that is calm and can give RJ a lot of time to decompress and come around to his new people would be best. RJ is believed to be a pit bull mix of about 2 years old. He weighs 66 lbs and as you can see has some physical healing to do yet. We have no way to test for cat or other small animal compatibility. However, we do offer a 5 day foster-to-adopt program to those who live within an hour of Chillicothe, OH. This will allow you time to figure out if this dog is compatible for you. If not, simply bring the dog back and if it's a great fit you just come back and adopt.
