While LA City does not list breeds, Jefferson resembles several spitz breeds such as a mini akita, chow, jindo, and husky, along with some shepherd. He is only 52 lbs though, and thought to be about 8 years young. However, he has now been made Rescue only due to an unfortunate situation. After being adopted, he accidentally got out on his first day, and the person suddenly grabbed him by his collar to abruptly stop him. Jefferson nipped his hand trying to get away, not to hurt him per the adopter. The adopter also stated Jefferson was very affectionate, and that this should never have happened. However, the adopter returned him because he was too interested in their senior cat. We have since obtained video of Jefferson also being loving with humans, and also in the playyard with a female dog.
