About Lucy

Meet Lucy! Lucy is a�%A0six year old,�%A045-50 lb�%A0pittie mix.�%A0 Lucy's favorite things include: +burrowing under blankets +sleeping on the couch, on her dog bed, on your bed (if you let her) +cuddling +PEOPLE of all ages, including children�%A0 +walks +cars - she has tried to climb into any car she sees with an open door�%A0 Lucy is the ideal work from home buddy. She will make sure you don't sit for 8 hours straight but she also doesn't need constant attention or supervision. �%A0Lucy is fully housetrained, zero accidents. If she absolutely needs to go out she will gently place a paw on her foster mom's lap. If that's not enough of a clue, Lucy will go to the door and sit. She loves walks, sniffing the neighborhood, and meeting other people out on walks. In the house, Lucy�%A0doesn't beg for food, doesn't have zoomies in the house. Lucy has lived with other dogs, and cats - she even nursed a kitten! Lucy is very gentle, and has met a 20 month old toddler. She was unfazed by toddler cries from bumped heads, toddler explorations, and toddler playing 'Goldilocks' and trying out all the dog beds. She did try to lick the toddler's face a few times, but with a gentle reminder was easily redirected.�%A0 *****Important: Lucy came to rescue with a partially torn cruciate. This is a muscle in her leg. Broken Tail Rescue will be working with an orthopedic�%A0vet on a plan for surgery and recovery. At this time Lucy is looking for a 'foster to adopt' situation. Through surgery and recovery she will be under the care of Broken Tail Rescue, but it would be wonderful for her to be with her 'furever' family throughout.***** Lucy's gentle demeanor, and love for all people would make her an�%A0awesome dog for read-aloud at schools/libraries and visiting nursing homes. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
