About Frosty TZ

Australian Cattle Dog / German Shorthaired Pointer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Frosty TZ an approximately 3 year old presumed Australian Shepherd, German Short Hair mix. Since he was wee puppy he has been loved by a senior couple with a spacious home and yard .Unfortunately, dad has become frail and Frosty is too much dog for mom. Because of their little chihuahuas, he did not have free roam of the home, but rather- a spacious yard, warm outer living area and kennel when needed. Frosty lovingly would sit on the outdoor swing with pop and seems to know he can no longer give him the companionship they once had. Frosty TZ is particular with the dogs he will welcome into his sphere- and does socialize with visiting dogs of similar size and temperament. He has had good manners training, sit, down, stay, wait-. And continued training is encouraged. He loves his toys-having favorites. He is a strong active big boy weighing 82 pounds with the softest luxurious speckled coat.. He is not a dog park dog. A spacious quiet home with large fenced yard is more suited for him. I suspect that cats to him are like squirrels- much to fun to chase. He will be protective of his fenced area for things like delivery people. He also does not like loud noises such as fireworks, loud lawn mowers and the like. It would be best to kennel him in a sizable enclosure which is he comfortable. He happily occupies his time with toys- milk jugs being his favorite. Frosty had a very serious surgery in October and is still favoring his leg. So it may be best for him to be with an only dog family- as he is still recovering from his surgery and too much activity could pose a problem for his left rear leg. We are not sure how his injury occurred- medical records provided. Post Lateral Fabeller surgery. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines and microchipped. Since his surgery- great care should be made when visiting a veterinarian. To him- it was not a great experience. He loads up well into a truck- needing a little boost of his rear-end. Frosty will be a most devoted companion and responds well to gentle discipline and correction. He is gentle mouthed with treats and is very eager to please. Please tell my guardian-advocate about you, your family, your activities, your property, the city in which you live, other pets in your home and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you - the better. What can this companion expect from you and what are your expectations of him/her. If you do not provide this information, do not expect a reply. Seriously- if you don't take the time to tell us about yourself and family- you will not get a reply. This is not a first come placement. There is a placement fee to offset care and medical. Please allow a few days- as I review inquiries. Tell me why you should be on the top of the list of potential families. Sell yourself. Some folks do not take the time to tell me why they should be the chosen ones,- giving 2 sentences like, 'we are a family of 4 with a cat and a fenced yard'- too little; others give a 40 year history of every animal they have ever had'- too much-. And then their are those who put me in their home- giving me a good understanding of what their new companion can expect.
