Foster location: Boise ID Breed: Domestic Medium Hair Date of Birth: 11/11/2019 Adoption Fee: $20.00 Spayed, Vaccinated, Microchipped Adoption Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Ah where to begin with our girl Tot? Fuzzy Pawz's Director saw videos of Tot through a rescue down in Utah and immediately knew they had missed something very important about her. Our Director knew in one glace that Tot had something medical going on that would never be noticeable to most people but that she recognized right off. Tot showed signs of having a very rare genetic disorder that if left untreated could have dire consequences for her. Our director contacted the rescue and took Tot into her own home to see about treatment. Tot has Congenital Hypothyroidism which is very rare and exhibits itself in many ways including making the kitten appear to have dwarfism. Tot was tiny when she came to Fuzzy Pawz - only 3 pounds at 6 months old; half the size she should have been and she showed signs of developmental mental delays as well. Basically it boiled down to being born with a bad thyroid slowed everything down for her; mentally and physically. Today; 8 months later we have finally worked through her medical issues and Tot is a healthy girl! Tot now weighs just over 6 pounds and is a long legged lithe beauty. She is healthy, happy and always on the go! She LOVES to play with toys and has them spread all over the house; she loves to race around and be crazy; she is a ton of fun! Tot is not a huge fan of being picked up but does like for you to cuddle her at night time. She LOVES to lie on your lap and snuggle with you in bed at night. Allowing her to sleep with you at night is a requirement for adoption. While Tot loves her people to distraction (pretty sure she'd sit on your lap 12 hours a day if allowed) she is afraid of strangers and will run and hide until she feels comfortable. She loves to play chase with the male cat in her foster home but she can play pretty darn rough so she should only go to a no pets home or to a home that has another cat that can match her play level (a young male would be best). While still a silly kitten Tot does not scratch on items she shouldn't but loves her cardboard scratchers; she uses the litter box and has great house manners. But she will steal food if you drop it on the floor, she will get in your garbage cans to eat anything that has even touched food (this is part of her disorder). She also LOVES to talk to you and tell you all about her day. Tot also knows when it is time to settle down - she naps nicely in the afternoon and will sleep peacefully with you all night long not getting up until it's time for breakfast. Tot will have to be fed 3 times a day and not allowed to graze throughout the day; keeping her weight steady is very important for her ongoing health. If you are looking for a fun loving, sweet cat who will talk your ear off fill out an application today.
