About Bear

Bear is a super sweet, goofy, playful guy. He was raised in a family that was new to dogs, they loved him dearly but weren't sure the best way to socialize and train him. As he grew he learned he was in charge and started resource guarding his food and toys. Being raised during Covid he didn't get out to meet many new people or other pets. This has left Bear pretty nervous when first getting to know people and other dogs. He's become to much to handle for his family that is filled with many kids, some being special needs, and is searching for a new home. He's been evaluated by a trainer and has been spending time at a training facility learning new skills and working on rehabbing his guarding issues, learning to socialize with new people and be around dogs and other animals. Bear is an amazing boy and has tons of potential. He loves to learn and has made many positive changes in a short amount of time. He would do best in a home with someone committed to continuing his training and providing good leadership. Although likely to get along with other dogs in time, being an only dog may be the best fit for now. Bear is housebroken, loves to ride in the car, knows some basic commands, walks well on a leash and loves to learn.
