Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the directions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are micro chipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. Hello! My name is Jax and I am a 3 year old 6 lb. Papillon mix. I was brought to the AZ Humane Society as a stray and was quickly adopted by a family that had small children who, unfortunately, were not supervised around me and traumatized me. This has caused me to be very fearful of strangers and other triggers, such as boxes, doorbells, mops/brooms. This family brought me back to the shelter and luckily Breeder Release Adoption Service rescued me. Once I was listed on the adoption websites, a family (no kids) from Nevada fell in love with me and adopted me. They were the best family I could ever ask for! They understood my special needs and tried to make my environment as stress free as possible. When we were in our home, I was happy, snuggly, loving, and playful. I loved to play games with them, go for long walks, and make them laugh with my goofy play with stuffies. I loved my people! But I still couldn't shake my stress responses. Then, the family situation in my new home took an unexpected turn when their adult son and his 2 small children had to move in due to job loss. My people knew they wouldn't be able to trust me around the children and amid great sadness I was returned again to the care of BRAS. So as you can see, I must have a very special adopter who is patient with me and understanding of my past. I would be best as the only dog in the home, with parents who stay home much of the time, and who don't have frequent visitors to their home. (I don't love strangers) . I am writing this as I am cuddled into a sweet furry little ball on my Foster mom's lap. My foster mom says I am a bundle of love!! As soon as one of my foster parents sits down, I jump right in their lap!! Local AZ adoptions only, please. Ask for me on your application to www.breederadoptions.org Love, Jax 120220-01
