About Toaster (west)

Hi, my name is TOASTER - ID#A4471511. I am a neutered male, white and red merle Australian Cattle Dog mix. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 3 months old, and I have been at the shelter since Sep 20, 2020. Toaster wasn't always the happy boy you see here - back in September, he was found running in the street and darting through traffic. Thankfully, someone noticed him in time and was able to get him out of the street before it was too late. Toaster was understandably very afraid and upset at first, but he's gotten a lot more comfortable interacting with people and would LOVE to find a family of his very own. In addition to his dashing good looks, Toaster also has a very affectionate and playful personality. He's still very young, only about two years old, so he can't wait to leave the shelter behind and start enjoying the many years he has ahead of him. He loves to go for walks, sniff and explore around the play yards outside, and show off his 'sit' skills in exchange for yummy treats. And once he gets to know you, Toaster absolutely craves your attention. He enjoys petting and chin rubs, and will even come rest his head in your lap. Toaster can still be cautious of strangers and needs a little time to warm up, so he will need a home with no small children (ages 12+ please!). He can sometimes be picky about dog friends, so he'll need to meet any dogs he'll be sharing a home with before you adopt, so you can make sure they'll be compatible pals.
