About Cheyenne

Adoption Fee: $300
Great Pyrenees mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hi, my name is Cheyenne! I'm a small size Great Pyrenees mix and weigh about 65 lbs. I am about 3 years old and originally from New Mexico. I'm very friendly but very shy and easily startled in the beginning with people. I get along great with other dogs, and am good with cats and other critters as well. I am a low to medium energy dog and am house trained. I love to go for walks and walk very well on a leash. I do not like riding in the car at all and am stressed out when I have to go somewhere. If you are looking for a dog to go places with, I am NOT your girl. I much prefer to stay around my home. It helps to have another dog with me when I have to go somewhere but I still get very worried. At night I like to sleep in a crate with the door open. I love chew toys like antlers and benebones. I am a picky eater, and sometimes skip meals. I am working on some separation anxiety issues, especially when the sun is down. I am afraid of strangers, visitors to the house, and cars. When I am afraid I bark to warn them off and can remain stressed and upset even after they are gone. I'm a fan of open spaces, but not of living in town and human activity. I'm therefore looking for a rural or mountain home where there are fewer things that scare me. I will be the happiest in a home with at least one other dog. I was used to living in a pack and I feel more confident when there are other dogs around. I am a sweet and affectionate dog, looking for a patient family that will give me a home for life.
