About Bear

Bear is my angel. I rescued him from an abusive home when he was a year old. It took a while for him to acclimate to life indoors and to accept love. Once he did, he broke out of his shell and became the most loving companion. Unfortunately, his food aggression never fully went away. While he has lived with cats and loves small dogs, he is temperamental with food and tends to show aggression towards large/alpha dogs. 5 years ago, I accepted a travel job and had to re-home bear with my elderly grandmother. The match seemed to be made in heaven; having bear live with my Nana and her poodle mix Booger. However, booger has since passed and my Nana's health is quickly declining. I feel like the worst pet owner in the world and wish so badly that I could take him back but the reality is that he needs a human who can be with him day in and day out and give him the love and attention that he deserves. He is fully house broken, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and knows several basic commands. Additionally, he was crate trained and used to love his crate but it has been several years since he has been in one. Ideally, I am looking for an older adult with no pets or a small dog to take my sweet baby. Someone who had the time and the space for him. He is very good and slowing down a lot in his age. He just craves companionship and a milk bone or two. Serious inquiries only.
