About BABA YEGA (west)

Hi, my name is BABA YEGA - ID#A3966529. I am a neutered male, tan American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Oct 19, 2020. I'm only about 4 years old and this is not my first time calling the shelter my temporary home. My shelter story began back in 2017 and for no fault of my own I haven't been able to find my forever home. Despite my best efforts every day, shelter life is starting to get the best of me. I'm begining to show signs of kennel deterioration. This happens to all social animals eventually when they have been incarcerated for long periods of time. They need social interaction whether with other dogs or people. I'm searching for a home with a family who will include me with the daily activities and be dedicated to my success as I learn my new routines and adjust to my new home. Here are recent notes by volunteers who have spent time with Baba: 10/19/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT Dog was affiliative with staff with wiggly body. Allowed vaccines with light restraint and walked to kennel on leash. 10/20/2020 EVALUATION Energetic in kennel; pulled hard on leash; energetic during collar placement; barked, growled in catch pen; explored yard on leash, then pulled hard towards other dogs; stiff, assertive during interactions; gave and tolerated polite inspections; growled when female dog moved away from him quickly; lead did not drop leash, removed from yard. 10/25/2020 WALK Per volunteer Mary M - Eager to get out of the cage, but easy to leash. Walked well on leash except when he saw another dog. Easy to put back in cage. 11/4/2020 OBSERVATION Adding to extra daily enrichment list and new hope portal as non-urgent due to arousal/behavior in kennel.
