About Thumper

This boy needs an extra special home! Thumper needs a patient home that will understand that he had a rough start at life. Dumped, abused, attacked by other ferals and fending for himself, it could take months or even years for him to act like a normal dog. In return he will give you so much love and appreciation. He is an extreme flight risk, he needs a SECURE fenced in yard and never left outside unattended. If he gets out he will not come back. He gets along great with females but not so much with males. As a feral who has fathered litters of his own this does not come as a surprise. Once he is fixed this may change but for now I am looking for a home with other female dogs only. He is great with cats, doesn't pay any attention to them. He is food aggressive, must be fed separately from other animals. His food aggression has reduced considerably now that he knows his food is coming every day. We automatically feed the dogs separately and not something we can safely test within our home. He needs older kids who know their doggy manners. He loves my 9 year old daughter but I watch their interactions like a hawk and never leave them alone. He is crate trained, actually loves to stay in his crate or 'safe space'. He goes to the door when he needs to potty but that doesn't necessary mean he is potty trained. He will need total understanding and patience with all of his training.
