About Leanora

Leanora was adopted at 5 weeks from the Austin Humane Society. She had been removed from the streets of Puerto Rico and flown to Austin for adoption. She was nervous / mouthy from young age and had 3 weeks board/train and intermittent training since then. She has been on a series of anti-anxiety meds with little, if any, effect. She wants to be loved and can be very sweet but is so anxious that she will not leave the house/backyard -- no car, no parks, no walks, no doggie daycare. She also is unpredictable and has had several level 3A bits of family members - she comes up to you wanting to be petted but gets overwhelmed and snaps. She needs someone with breed experience who can give her consistent, long term training she needs to thrive. She should not be around children or people who are dog anxious. She seems to do better when she is with just one person (me) and no other pets around. She is a lovely dog but beyond my family's ability to care for any longer. We have done all that we can, but I do not trust her with anyone coming to the house and worry myself, at this point, about the biting becoming more serious. We are the point of euthenizing if we cannot find a safe adoption or long term foster. I would much rather euthenize than risk her living in a dangerous or abusive setting.
