About Romeo

Hi, I'm Romeo! I'm a 9 to 10 year old Dappled Wire Hair Dachshund and I weigh around 15lbs. I was pulled into rescue after my owner was unable to give me the care needed due to health reasons. It's taken me some time to adjust but now it's time for me to find my furever family. I am full of energy and love going for walks. I also love my interactive toys like Kongs and Licki mats cause I am a smart cookie! Just since I've been in my foster home I've mastered house training, learned how to sit and wait, learned leash manners, learned how to share with the other doggies in the house and am learning to coexist with the kitties in the house too. I would love to have a home with an outgoing family that can take me for walks, play fetch in a nice big fenced in yard with me and help me learn more fun games to keep me on my toes. I get along fine with other doggies of all sizes but should be fed separately as I'm afraid other doggies may steal my food, but we're still working on that. I would likely do fine in a home with older children (over 10yrs of age) they would be wonderful playmates. I still have a lot of work that's needed so an active family is a must.
