About Evie

Bull Terrier / Border Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

I rescued Evie in College Station, Texas when I was 19 years old. I went in to the animal shelter just to look at dogs and possibly sign up to volunteer. I had been missing my dogs at home and was craving some puppy attention. The people working that day introduced me to a dog who had been there for a while, Evie. She had been there for five months and still had no home. She had been there for so long because she had heart worms and nobody wanted her. I went home that night and realized I needed to adopt her. I went back and adopted Evie and brought her back to health. Evie was probably abused by her previous owners because loud noises frightened her. She didn't trust me at first and I had to gain it all. It was quite the task but now she is a totally different dog. That little rescue dog turned into the absolute sweetest girl in the whole world. Great listener, completely house trained and an amazing support animal. I led a stressful college life because I was a student-athlete competing at a high level. Evie has been there for me for every high and every low. She has the kindest eyes and the sweetest soul. She is perfectly content napping and laying around with you all day, but she wouldn't mind a long walk either. She is the perfect dog for anyone looking for a well trained dog who is independent and smart. The only flaw Evie has is she is not dog or cat friendly. She was attacked by a golden retriever at the dog park in 2019 and she has not been the same around other dogs since. She would be perfect in a single dog home. She can walk with other dogs but can't go to a dog park or live with another dog. Evie has been my companion and best friend for over the last six years. I am a professional track and field athlete and due to certain circumstances I will be moving over seas in the next few weeks to get prepared for the Olympic Games. Due to the traveling I have with my career I have decided rather than to find someone to watch her, to find my sweet girl a new home.
