About Kingsley

Kingsley is a 5-year old, 75-pound male hound mix located in Goffstown, NH. He actually turns 5 in January so wouldn't the best birthday gift ever be a nice new home?! He really needs an adopter who is HOME a lot, such as a retiree or someone who works from home. He would love a fenced-in yard, too. He is house trained, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and knows all the basic commands. His creamy coat, handsome face, and leggy build define this good lookin' fella'. Kingsley is a big goof ball! He has a huge personality and is so energetic. Right now he's not getting much exercise, so he'd love a home with someone who is very active. He is an outdoorsy kind of guy who loves going for runs, hiking, swimming, and camping. Some activities require driving to a destination, so you must know that he gets anxious on car rides; however, once you're on the highway he settles down. Just be prepared for his soulful vocals until then. Kingsley is being rehomed because a new baby has joined the household. This change isn't a good fit since his primary means of communication is through howling. He does this to be let out, at the start of car rides, and if put in a crate. Now that he's fairly trustworthy when left alone, he doesn't need crating as long as soft things are kept out of reach. He does like a good stuffed item to tear apart! He does enjoy the company of adult lady canines, but prefers to live alone. He can be dominant with male dogs and he's not a fan of puppies because they 'get up in his face.' He's okay with older kids, ages 10 and above. Younger kids and babies distress him, which is the another reason he needs a new home. Kingsley's ideal owner has experience with dogs and will provide a consistent routine. He needs a loving person to meet his cuddle bug ways, but also a stern person because he tries to get away with things! Though he needs more training for things like pulling while walking and developing manners when meeting other dogs, Kingsley is smart and highly trainable. His current owners feel that he picks up on their nervousness, so he should do very well with a confident person.
