About Rusty

Rusty is a wonderful, affectionate, and smart pup! He is 1 year and a half and is a high energy dog. He will need an owner who can exercise him regularly. He makes a wonderful running and hiking partner! He is very smart and loves to learn; he currently knows sit, down, stay, shake, spin, and crate. He is house trained and crate trained. He is not vocal and does not bark unless barked at. He also doesn't chew anything up and is good at not jumping on the furniture, even when excited. He is the perfect companion for both a weekend in the mountains or a night in on the couch. Rusty is very loving and loyal, however due to past experiences as a stray, Rusty has some anxiety and aggression, especially towards other dogs. Rusty will take some time to warm up to his new home, and will need some patience and attention towards some behavioral problems. He should be the only dog in his home to start, until he is properly warmed up to other dogs. He is also not good with children as his natural instinct to herd often kicks in with kids under 6.
