Please note we will ask for a vet reference. Jack is a handsome fellow in urgent need of a new home. He was originally found as a stray about a year ago and his owners were found, but they did not want him back. His current caregivers ended up keeping him, but they tell us that he has become much more aggressive towards people who don't live in the home, including the mailman. A Good Samaritan has very kindly offered to cover the cost for an initial training session for Jack and his new family, if a new family can be found! We will be happy to connect Jack's adopters with his Good Samaritan once adoption is complete. As of now, Jack is still looking for rescue/a new forever home. Name: Jack Age: Approximately 3 or 4 years Breed: Cattledog Mix Sex: Male (neutered per current caregivers, not confirmed) Location: Jasper County, MO Vet Info: Jack's caregivers tell us he is neutered and up to date on vaccines, but this hasn't yet been confirmed. He has not had a recent heartworm test. Jack's caregivers write that other than his vision, he is healthy. He was born with 'collie eye' and is blind. Jack weighs about 60 pounds. Owner Info: Jack is not housebroken or leash trained, but knows 'go' and sometimes, 'sit!' His current caregivers tell us he's good with female dogs, but has attacked their male dog. He is not possessive of toys, treats, or food. Jack's caregivers feel he adapts well to new situations and write, 'Yes he adapts very well and gets around very well.' He is an outside dog and gets around their property very well, but can also be destructive. Jack's caregivers gave us more details about him: 'He has bitten 2 of my small nieces and nephews. It did break the skin a little not significant enough to need medical attention. He also bit one of my adult nieces and broke skin but not enough to need medical attention.' Jack's caregivers are hoping placement can be found that's better suited to his needs.
