We are looking to for a new home for our dog. He is a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, three years old, fixed, about 55 pounds. He is housebroken, crate-trained and up to date on shots (they are coming due in January). Dental cleaning in October 2020.%A0 While we love Rocket very much, he is not a good fit for our family and we want him to have a good life. Before we got him, he was a trained hunting dog and then abandoned. We have worked hard with him to help him adjust to family life, including professional training, but his energy level around our small children is too much. He gets along with other dogs and has been attending doggie daycare. Cannot be around cats. He would be a GREAT dog for a family with older children or an active couple/single person who has time and patience for a slightly stubborn hound. A large outdoor place (fenced yard or farm) for him to run and sniff is important. His energy level around adults is medium, but he gets cranked up to 100 around small kids. He is good-hearted and so playful.
