Zoey is a 3 yo, 65 lb. Husky/Collie mix. She is smart, attentive, sweet, knows commands. I've had her since January and have worked with her diligently but can't seem to get her to walk on a leash without pulling. I am 'of a certain age' and she's too strong for me to handle. I wanted a mellow dog for company, to take walks and just chill around the house. She's good company and likes to sleep but the walking is out of the question. While walking one day there was a loud bang and she ran away and I was injured. I still didn't quit as I really wanted this to work out but it's time to face the fact that she's just too much for me to handle. If I were 20 yrs. younger or had a fenced-in yard I wouldn't be on this site. She would benefit being able to run and get exercise every day as she's still young. She has some anxiety, doesn't care for car rides, is a good guard dog for the home and gets along with one of my cats. I'd like her to go to a someone who has experience with owning a dog and can give her a safe, loving home and preferably space for her to run would be best. She had a rough life and it's obvious she is willing to please and just wants the love and happy life that she deserves.
