About Dakota

Hi. My name is Dakota. I just celebrated my 3rd Birthday on November 22. I am in excellent health, fully vetted, and neutered and am a Purebred Male Akita. My previous owner became ill and I found myself without a home and spent several months in a boarding facility until rescue found me, just in the nick of time. I am looking for my forever home with a wonderful family of my very own. I am a big boy but I am very smart and respond to basic commands. I love to play and have a lot of energy so I would do best in a home with a big yard for me to play. I would love a family who has time to give me love, attention and enjoys playing with me. I am a little shy at first but once comfortable in my surroundings, you will see that I am a little rambunctious and love my walkies with my Foster Dad and Foster Sister. I prefer to be the only dog because I can play a little rough and females can find me a bit much and two males is not the best idea for our breed. I am not too sure about cats or small children, but since I am a big boy, it would be best that they were children over 5 years old. I would also benefit from follow up reinforcement training for me to be the best boy ever. Previous Akita experience is desired but not required.
