About Ray

f you're looking for a new friend, and a��%BD%A0way to spend the long winter, come stare into my eyes and love me! My name is Ray and I am an 8 month old, 52 pound puppy!��%BD%A0 In my eight months in this world there have been many changes in my life, so I am looking for a home that will give me time to adjust. Previously I lived in an apartment with both adults and children, and my foster called me 'a complete mush' when I had a closely supervised meeting with a 2 year old child! It's very likely I could be a great family dog.��%BD%A0 Since I'm still a puppy there is a lot about the world I'm still learning, including how to walk on a leash, though my new harness is helping me. I am also adjusting to playing with other dogs inside a house - outside I've enjoyed playtime with the resident dog, but inside I'm still unsure of the world and would be best as your only dog. I will need consistency in learning the crate is a fun, safe place for me to spend time. I go in to the crate at bedtime (with significant coaxing) but in the mornings, as soon as a person is awake, I am anxious to be included in the daily routines. Generally I would do best with a family where someone is home all the time to help me gain confidence since I have anxiety about the world. There is a resident feline who is a mystery to me. Because I would be interested in giving chase - what a fun game - I need to be in a feline free home. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
