About Riddick

Please note, we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs are residing in foster homes in TX. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org I was named for the character portrayed by Vin Diesel in the film series, the Riddick Chronicles (there are also a couple of video games by the same name!!) Unlike my namesake, I am low key, easy going and am what people call a 'Good Dog'. Foster Mum says that I am medium energy and low maintenance ......whatever that means!! My original owners had to 'downsize' due to the pandemic. 'Downsizing' for a hooman means moving to a smaller living space. 'Downsizing' for a pupper like me meant losing my life long family and going to the local animal shelter I was very sad at the shelter and didn't 'show well'. Who in the world can 'show well' when their heart is broken!! Hay Dude Critter Rescue took me from the shelter and I am now living with Foster Mum and I have a big yard so I can run and play in the sun!! What I really want is my own family again. At 45 pounds and 5 years old, I am at the peak of my young adult life!! I am good with everyone I meet and all other dogs. I ignore cats until they run, then it is time for a game of chase!! I am a smallish Boxer mix with beautiful white points and a brindle brown coat. My coat is super short, smooth and shiny!! Short coat = low shedding = low maintenance (there is that phrase again!!) By nature, I am very sweet by nature and very hooman oriented. I love to sit and watch TV with Foster Mum and get scritches behind my ears and on my belly...awwwww.. so nice to be loved on, again!! I would be fine in apartment with a hooman that works from home so that I have companionship and can go outside to do my 'bidnezz:)' If you are searching for a stable and humble hiking/TV viewing/snuggle buddy, your search is over!!
