Meet Lincoln This handsome boy, Lincoln, was rescued from a high kill shelter. We brought him to the safety of our shelter as we search for his forever home. Lincoln is nine month old Labrador retriever mix. He's medium size, weighing 54 lbs. He's a super sweet boy who is finding it hard to be at the shelter. The noise and confinement of the shelter environment have increased his anxiety. Luckily we have wonderful staff who understand this and are working with Lincoln to help him adjust. He has a lot of energy that needs to be channeled. Outside of the shelter, this boy is a terrific dog. He's smart, sweet, and so much fun. He's much calmer and can focus better. Lincoln is very sensitive and just wants to belong to someone. Someone who can work with him patiently and give him the security and safety he's lacked his whole life. He is smart and learns quickly. He will make for a great hiking buddy. We don't yet know how he'll respond to other dogs or cats and can test for potential adopters. Lincoln has a lot of potential and just needs to be out of the shelter for his true personality to shine through. He's loyal and earnest and tries so hard. If you are able to open your heart and home to a sweet young dog who will make for a wonderful companion, handsome Lincoln may just be the one.
